Respect, Support, and the Power of Giving
At Vision Nonprofit, our mission is simple: to help children with low vision get the tools they need to thrive. Sometimes, that means celebrating moments we can share—like this video of Joey unboxing an iPad shipment—and other times, it means working quietly behind the scenes to support families in ways that remain private.
Tips to Help Kids with Low Vision
At Vision Nonprofit, we believe that every child deserves the tools and confidence to thrive—no matter their vision abilities. That’s why we’re excited to share Joey’s latest video, "Thriving with Nystagmus," where he talks about his own experience with low vision and offers practical tips to help other kids like him.
Welcoming Patrick Sepate to the Vision Nonprofit Board
We are excited to welcome Patrick Sepate, MBA, PMP, to the Vision Nonprofit Board of Directors! With decades of experience in project management, business strategy, and process optimization, Patrick brings a results-driven approach that will help guide Vision Nonprofit as we continue to grow and expand our impact.
Skiing Adventure at Perfect North
At Vision Nonprofit, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience adventure, push their limits, and build confidence—regardless of their vision abilities. Recently, Joey had an incredible opportunity to do just that while skiing at Perfect North Slopes, thanks to Clovernook Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired.
Giving Accessibility
Sawyer is a recipient of an iPad from Vision Nonprofit! The device will open up new possibilities for learning, accessibility, and independence.
Sawyer shared with us how much an iPad helps her every day:
"Hi, I’m Sawyer, and I have low vision. That means sometimes it’s hard for me to see things like books, schoolwork, or even details on a screen. But my iPad helps me so much! I can zoom in to read, make things bigger, and use special tools that make it easier for me to see."
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Sawyer now has the tools she needs to thrive. But there are still other kids like her who need the same support. You can help by donating or sharing our mission with someone who wants to make a difference.
Thank you for being part of this journey—it truly means the world to us and the kids we serve!
Meet Joey
Joey has always had a passion for technology, but as a child with low vision, he also understands firsthand the challenges that come with it. When we started Vision Nonprofit, Joey was our very first applicant, and in many ways, he was the one who kicked off this entire mission.
As parents navigating his diagnosis of congenital nystagmus, we saw the impact that having the right technology—like an iPad with accessibility tools—had on his ability to learn, read, and explore the world. We knew other kids could benefit just as much, and that’s how Vision Nonprofit was born.
Joey continues to be a huge part of what we do, sharing his knowledge and excitement for technology with others. His journey inspired this organization, and now, because of him, we’re helping more children get the tools they need to succeed.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. It all started with one application, and today, we’re reaching so many more kids who deserve the same opportunities. 💙
